My first Lego Extreme track for Re-Volt.

I edited the textures myself, also had some fun with MAKEITGOOD for lights, force fields and AI nodes (cpu was heavily lackluster with the default lines).

I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome, hope you like it!

Thanks to Acclaim for this immortal game.

    update 1.1.5changed snow texture

update 1.1.0 added music and slightly lowered the 'blinding white' effect on the snow section

Make sure you have the updated version! You can recognize it due to it having music.
In the updated version i lowered the snow brightness quite a bit (it’s almost asphalt-grey), let me know if it’s still too bright, i might be able to llalso lower the whole track env light, hoping it doesn’t make the cave too dark

For the turns, i wanted it to be a bendy track especially to extend the time the cars are in the cave, but I agree that the pond can’t be admired for enough time.

  2. A bit too turn-heavy for my taste, especially when you get into the cave since there seems to be some neat water pool with a floating light in the center of it, which you don’t get to see much because you’re busy making sharp right turns from the moment you leave the cave till the time you’re practically out, not giving you a chance to see just what’s over there unless you drive off the race line to check it out. Straights or at least softer turns at the right angle give you a chance to check set pieces like that out, and perhaps balanced the race-line out a bit to give more top speed leaning cars a small moment to kick into gear.

Visually though everything is REALLY nice aside from the snow section, which is just kinda so brightly white that its a bit featureless and bland, a little bit of shading or darker white might of helped there, I’m not sure, but the warmer outdoor areas and the cave pack a lot of simple but very effective atmosphere and aesthetic! The couple of smooth banks and turns in the normal outdoor area are REALLY well put together too for a Lego track!

The little water pool that you need to float across is an interesting touch too, a little serene swim after escaping the dark caverns

Overall a remarkable first foray into Extreme lego track-making, I’m excited to see anything else Rayerd might have up their sleeves!

  3. thanks for the feedback, guys!
@ced! : i slightly lowered the whiteness of that section, maybe i’m used to it due to my monitor settings, sharpness of track is made to confuse players and especially AI a little (otherwise they zoom thorough it like the ice on supermarket)

at release i didn’t put the music since the one i use it’s copyright protected, but now i’ve found something similar and royalty free of the same genre :)

  4. Very nice first track. Congratulations!
I didn’t really like the passage in the snow. I found the texture too bright and the edges of the track too sharp.
There is also a lack of music.
But it really is a fine piece of work.
