  2. The Ant and the Aardvark is a series of animated shorts from the makers of The Pink Panther. I don’t think I had ever heard of it, but I watched one of the episodes before reviewing this track. This track was released by Gaming4JC in August of 2007, and is very story-driven. The idea is that the Re-Volt cars are a fan of the shorts and try to find the eponymous Ant and Aardvark, and do so successfully. However, then they shrink to the size of ants themselves, and when the Aardvark tries to catch the Ant by inhaling air the cars got caught by the wind as well. So they have to race to escape the Aardvark’s wind.
Funny premise, and a funny result.
However, it doesn’t get much better than that. Speedups and strong force fields don’t tend to make for great gameplay, and they certainly don’t here. The track is also awkward to navigate, with lots of obstacles, and a slippery surface type. As the cherry on top, there are some glueing issues (colliding with the next track piece).
The Ant and Aardvark are included as big graphics, which is a lot of fun, but the rest of the graphics leave to be desired. Also, while I appreciate evangelism in Re-Volt tracks, it doesn’t make sense to me to have an advert for a Bible website in a track based on a secular animated short.
This track is probably not worth playing, unless you’re a fan of The Ant and the Aardvark… maybe.
