An edit of Molten Caverns by Saffron made for the Christmas Carnival 2019

69/100

And more: nice touch with the crystal ambient sound!
Ato.
This goes for both Molten Caverns and Frozen Caverns:
These are incidentally a pair of the most difficult tracks to race with hood cam – all the lava pits and cliff sides appear without warning, just like in real life. From the ground, you never know what’s behind the next bump in the road – more road or no road! :)
Kudos,
Ato.
It mostly changes the atmosphere of the track, although the gameplay is also slightly changed, because the lava can now be driven on.
Gameplay-wise, I have little preference between the two, although for the cave part where you can fall into the lava in the original, I like being able to slide over the ice instead. However, Molten Caverns looks a lot better in my opinion; Frozen Caverns can feel dull.
In this track, you can get an X when you take a certain turn too sharply: this happened in the original Molten Caverns too, but there it seems to have since been fixed. This track came out after the fix, though, so I’m a bit confused. What I’m also confused about is why Frozen Caverns has a shorter length than Molten Caverns! Aren’t the racing lines identical?
