May 13th, 2025 – Hello, Re-Volters!
We’re finally back again with another creative event – and once again, comments are open, so feel free to tell us what you think about it! As we leave the first quarter of the century (!!), we can’t help but ask ourselves an age-old question: what will the cars of the future look like? That’s right – calling all car makers here, this event is just for you! Get your (virtual) pencil and paper and start sketching the radio-controlled cars of tomorrow!
What is this?
Content creators can attend the contest by submitting a creation according to the contest themes.
After the deadline, there will be a public voting to determine the winners of each category.
In addition, you can gain Kudos by attending the Next-Gen Face-Off!
- Attending: You get 25
for attending a category. - Podium: Getting on the podium in a category will give you 50 .
- Winning: Winning a category is worth 100 !
Theme and Categories
The Re-Volt World Next-Gen Face-Off features three creation categories, as per our usual event format. However, this time all three categories will revolve around making cars.
- Innovation through Nostalgia: start from a Re-Volt stock car and bring it into the future!
- Innovation through Emulation: take inspiration from a real car and modernize it!
- Innovation through Imagination: unleash your craziest ideas by building an unconventional machine from a distant future!
Rules
General rules:
- Deadline for submission is Sunday June 8th, 20 UTC.
- Every creator can submit a maximum of ONE creation per category (and it is not mandatory to participate in all of them).
- Collaborations are allowed. Please provide the name(s) of the author(s) you collaborated with.
- Used resources (if any) must be stated in an attached readme, unless their author(s) is (are) okay with free distribution.
- Please don’t upload your entries to Re-Volt World or any other websites before the submission deadline.
- It is not mandatory to keep your entries secret before the deadline.
Innovation through Nostalgia rules:
- You may submit a repaint, remodel (which includes remaps of stock cars) or original.
- The car needs to feature either a clear reference to a stock RV car’s design or paint scheme (or both).
- You might take as inspiration cars like Cougar Spec-S, Sir Gleam, Toyeca Vision GT or this Phat Slug skin.
Innovation through Emulation rules:
- You may submit a repaint, remodel or original. Repaints of conversions are also accepted (remember to make sure the original author(s) allow(s) modifications of their cars!).
- Cars such as the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, Hyundai Pony Heritage (which became Paxen) or Audi RSQ can be taken as inspiration, since they were designed (or restyled) to bring the past and present of automotive history into the future.
Innovation through Imagination rules:
- You may submit a remodel or an original.
- If you want to make a wheeled vehicle, it can have any number of wheels except 4. Any other type of propulsion is allowed – go crazy!
- You might take as inspiration cars like Tranclucator 2, DR-ONE, VAV Ballwheel, Nano Slammr or Havac.
