Originating from a previous lego track I released in 2002, named 'Sandy Run'. Aquarium has been sixteen years in the making. Not daily for sixteen years I assure you, but kelp in my tracks folder and occasionally working on it. There has been a lot of water under the bridge through out the years and to remember all the people that need a special thank you would be nearly impossible, but please know I am greatful and do want to say thank you for your work. If you see something in the track you have created or had a part of, please let it be known in the comments. I by no means want to take any credit for someone else's work. While creating Aquarium, Toyeca was the car used for testing the track and the car recommended for this track. It has a good weight and steering that works well driving and floating through the water in the aquarium. Not all cars will finish the track because some are not heavy enough and will keep floating to the top of the water. That being said, I think after sixteen years, I am going to call it done, and I hope that all who download and try the Aquarium enjoy it. Also please download 'Sandy Run' to see the Aquarium's beginning. Thanks!

  1. I currently download a lot of Lego Tracks to study them and this one is simply the best track in this category according to me.
Contrary to its classification, it is not a simple track made with the track editor but a Lego Extreme Track.
The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay is amazing (with the Toyeca, as recommended by the author in the readme.txt, we have an incredible feeling of floating between the waters).
    A must-try Lego track!

  2. Aquarium takes a very different take on the track (Sandy Run) by making it entirely take place underwater. There is a rather strong force field throughout the track; actually, there are some smaller force fields too, but I’m not sure what they’re doing, as it feels like you are under the same forces for the entire duration of the race.
This track is very beautiful. The textures are great and there are lots of details all around. I’m not too sure about the placement of the track, as 3 of the four edges of the track are black, but the remaining one has a graphic on it. Are we in an aquarium in someone’s house, or in a zoo, or are we actually underwater? I also don’t like that the camera sometimes gets out of the water, that looks weird. Overall though, the graphics are amazing!
The track flow is also good, Sandy Run had a very good track layout to begin with (I think it was unchanged for this version).
The gameplay is of course severely affected by the force field. And personally, it is too strong. However, with Toyeca it is actually quite doable, and pretty fun, which is the car that the track was made for. I have an old WIP myself that is part underwater, but I used a weaker force field, so that the lighter cars could also compete.
Actually, this track being completely underwater, it could today be remade using gravity instead of force fields, to affect all cars equally! It would be cool if this was done, perhaps. :) It wouldn’t be a realistic water effect, though.
Overall, this is definitely a track worth checking out. I would recommend using a heavier car than Dust Mite, though. ;)
