Hanging Gardens: Special Triggers
Track Mod

Tuesday, 2nd September 2025

I also can't play this track without this mod, but I'll give you three reasons why it should be downloaded separately: - I want this gameplay to be optional as it adds new rules, in case some people prefer playing this track without this mod. - The track without the mod is compatible with the vanilla Re-Volt. - The fact it's a mod highlights what the translucent boxes are for, if it was incorporated directly into the original track some players could be confused when seeing the translucent boxes without knowing their purpose. However, according to the download count, at the time I write this comment only 25% of players have downloaded the mod (it increased, it was only 10% a few months ago), I can only encourage anyone who only played the track without the mod to give it a try.

High School 2 (Long)
Standard Track

Monday, 11th August 2025

I've just updated this track and its shorter version, it's mostly about optimization. To decrease loading time, you need to remove this track before updating, because I have removed some files. Visiboxes should increase the frame rate in most parts of the track (they mostly cover indoor parts of the track).

High School 2 (Long)
Standard Track

Sunday, 27th July 2025

Thanks you for the feedback! @sinaosal the next version will have more sounds, but maybe not those you're expecting and they might be hard to notice. @PC Head (and anyone with long loading time): this is mostly related to collisions (ncp files) and some files can be removed without affecting gameplay because they're only used in another part of the school. I'll upload a cleaned version in the next days, I'll post another comment here when it's done. The biggest files you can remove safely in the levels/hschool2l folder are the following (no need to backup these files if you have High School 1): - bench1.ncp - bench2.ncp - column.ncp - columnx4.ncp - desks2x3.ncp In total, I've identified more than 20 files that can be removed! You can do the same for the short version of High School 2, but not for High School 1!

High School 1
Standard Track

Wednesday, 9th July 2025

Thank you @Ced! and @Cactoking for the feedback! I have just updated High School 1, it should load faster now. What you won't see is that High School 2 (pending approval while writing this comment) got a similar update today, but it's more noticeable on High School 1. I'm aware that the chicane before the second staircase is hard to see, I may add some obstacles to force the player to slow down before and approach this chicane differently. About other High School tracks, I plan to make 7 or 8 tracks in total. > First set (July 2025, all finished but may receive updates): - High School 1 & 2, and their "Long" version (4 tracks). High School 1 refers to the main buildings and High School 2 to other buildings of the school. I have first worked on the long versions, and decided to make shorter (and easier) variants because the long ones are really long (one of them is the longest track I have uploaded here, even longer than all my Sprint tracks). > Second set (hopefully August 2025, I haven't started working on any of these): - A Sprint track as long as possible and maybe a Tour (standard track that use the whole school). - A Battle Tag arena in the entrance of the main building. - A **REDACTED**.

Galaxy World 2
Standard Track

Friday, 14th March 2025

Both tracks are excellent, I personally prefer the first one. In Galaxy World 2, some cars can't get the star during a race in Simulation mode, it's too high (tested with Abomin8r).

Secret Santa 2024 – Announcement

Wednesday, 8th January 2025

I have a question for tracks, does the reverse version also have to follow the racing line? I would like to cut a short part of the track in it.

Forest Mansion
Stunt Arena

Saturday, 13th April 2024

Overall, it is a good stunt arena. I like that it is possible to explore a large part of the mansion and the garden. Some of the stars are a bit tricky to get, but I would rate this stunt arena as medium instead of hard (not easy, it's a bit harder than your Toys in the Hood Arena). I could get 51 stars with RC Bandit and Sprinter XL, and the 9 other stars with Adeon and Zipper.

Re-Volt World Leap Year Extravaganza 2024 Pack
Project

Wow there are 5 standard tracks this time! The practise star of Hanging Gardens is visible on its screenshot both here and in Contest Entries.

Summer Challenge 2023 – Results

Monday, 14th August 2023

It was a great event, with a large diversity of challenges! My favorite challenge is #4 which is also the only one I have won. For the next time, if there is again a similar challenge, I think it would be better to constrain everyone to race against one opponent, because there is no reason to add more opponents in this challenge. The example screenshot should also show a time similar to the one yun posted, because it is relatively easy to do. My only opponent was Pest Control in Simulation mode, you can watch the full race here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ffxwu7c1xx4 If you watch the video, you will see that my time could have been much better, because I couldn't push Pest Control in one of the best obstacles the track offers (the last oasis, where I can block Pest Control for a while as long as it only repositions in the water). The challenge I dislike the most is #5, because I personally find it useless. There is nothing to find, and even the description says that you can take a random screenshot, which means it is more likely that there is no star. I haven't attended the three challenges that require making a skin, because I'm not interested in making skins, but at least you produce something when doing these challenges. Now, I will share my ideas for future events like this: - A challenge involving the use of clockwork cars. Otherwise I never play with them, and it's the only game mode that wasn't featured this year. - Create your own cup, give a car or class recommendation for it and attend a public voting (the cumulated amount of laps or track length for the entire cup should be limited). - Reach the highest speed you can with a given car on a given track (but I can understand if it is too hard to take the perfect screenshot). Cars with extremely low acceleration and very high top speed, such as Maxx "Z" or Zettai, would be great for this. Toys in the Hood 1 could be a good track for this. Another idea for a contest would be "Personal challenge contest". The idea is to create a car or a track (or both) and submit a time trial challenge with these (if only the track is created, the creator can pick any existing car and vice-versa). There would be one week for everyone (even people who haven't submitted a creation) to try all the challenges and post times, and beating the creator of a challenge would give more points. Creators could NOT improve their own times, but to compensate they could get additional points with a public voting for their creations. EDIT: For challenge 4 I have also tried to play against another RV Loco, but it was surprisingly harder to slow it down. But for another year, it could be an interesting idea to make a variant of this type of challenge where everybody must use the JOKER cheat code to play against the same car.

Thru The Sylve: The Tracks
Standard Track

Thursday, 3rd August 2023

Nice tracks! Autumn and Spring in particular have a creative raceline and are my favorites! I like the dense vegetation in all of the tracks. However, there are some details that could be easily improved. The track Summer Again has the moveable branch, but it has the ABC block sound when it is hit, which is weird. The corresponding sound is "toybrick.wav" that you can find in the custom folder of any track that has the moveable branch (it's nothing else than the tumbleweed sound, which is located in wavs/ghost/tumbweed.wav, renamed to "toybrick.wav"). The tracks are mostly built with the road tiles, that have the default surface type. If you want to use the dirt surface that generates dirt particles and brown skid marks, create a new file named "properties.txt" (like in Space Opera) and replace the default surface with dirt. To do so, copy and paste one of the dirt materials (let's say "Dirt 1") from the sample properties file (you can find it there: https://re-volt.gitlab.io/rvgl-docs/tracks-properties.html) and paste this in your empty "properties.txt" file, and then change the ID of the material to 0. There are some mistakes in the sample properties file, you'll have to do the following steps to fix them. Set Skid and Spark to true. Copy the color from "Color" and paste it in "SkidColor". For the winter track, you can use a snow material from any winter track instead of a dirt material. Oh, by the way I am working on an update for this PRM set, there should be at least 16 new tiles soon (mostly the dirt equivalent to the road tiles but also new ones) and a fix for some tiles.
