  1. This track looks ridiculous, but it’s actually quite fun! Unfortunately the track lacks a readme. The Rallye Monte-Carlo is an annual rallying event (a type of motorsport where you’re not racing against opponents directly). The thumbnail refers to the rally of 1988 specifically, but I couldn’t find anything special about that edition.
The textures in this track are laughable. When you start the race, you see these tiny people standing on the walls, complete with pureblacks. You’ll also notice the completely white walls, and the road which is the default texture with some white pixels sprinkled on top.
However, besides the textures, the track is okay, graphically: lots of instances were added using MAKEITGOOD, which does improve the atmosphere a lot. Unfortunately there’s one that extends beyond the wall, though, and can get in the way of racing. This is not a major issue, however, as even the AI doesn’t get stuck there permanently.
This track does not feature pick-ups, which I guess makes sense for being a supposedly realistic track. In general, the track layout makes a lot of sense. I find the flow satisfying, and it feels more like what a real racing circuit might look like than most Lego tracks I’ve played. The track uses elements to its strength, and doesn’t put in strange elements just because. Neither does it feature excessive elevation or banks, although there is plenty to spice up the race. I do think it would’ve been nicer with two different surface types, for the two different track types, one being quite slippery.
This definitely isn’t a polished track. But the solid racing line, dressed up with some instances and (bad) textures might make for a few fun races.
