    Go back in time and wreak havoc in a Victorian mansion while a thunderstorm is raging outside. Climb the tables, jump on the bed, cover the carpet in oil, everything is fair game. The owner surely won't mind.

    This track comes with a practice star. It is recommended that those who intend to find it don't use freecam until they've found it, as it can give it away.

    Track too dark? Extract brighter_lights.7z in the mansion folder. Also downloadable separately from RVW, can be installed with the Launcher. Must be installed after the track.

    The challenge times are meant for Toyeca. Ghost files which correspond to the challenge times are included with the track, beating the ghosts beats the times. They have to be installed manually, by extracting the contents of 'ghosts.7z' from levels/mansion into your RVGL directory when not using the Launcher, OR your 'save' folder when using the Launcher. Want more of a challenge? Install 'alt_ghosts.7z' instead. Note that this will not change the challenge times, just the ghosts. These will not overwrite any files/times of your own.

  1. Yeah, it was 2018! Not everything was kept, but there’s still a lot that you should recognize. There’s actually a slideshow in the readme that shows how the track changed over time, if you’re interested.
    I’m with you on that, I loved working with this theme, it’s what kept pushing me to finish it. Thank you for the kind words, Kiwi.

  2. You finally released it, I can’t believe it. After talking with you a lot about this track back in 2018 (?) I even got the chance to test some very-early WIP versions of this track, back then. Every now and then the track with it’s very unique atmosphere popped in my mind in the last years. I can remember the crazy paintings and the gramophone tune – is it still included? I have to dig out my Re-Volt installation and test the track right away. I’m so happy to see it’s released, finally. Thanks to all the people who helped you releasing this track.

  3. I found the raceline to be cohesive at first play, there was no place I got confused.
    The rugs’ edges at the long stretch and the fireplace seemed to be a bit too steep making cars, especially the R6 Turbo jump a bit more than I expected, I don’t know if this is intended, all the other rugs have less aggressive edge.
    Other than this inconsistency I really love the track, a huge step up from your previous ones, I can only repeat other’s praise.

  4. I pointed out the darkness issue on the track while I went for play tests. After installing brighter lights I don’t have any problems to read the track without changing ingame brightness/contrast settings, so thanks for fixing that!

    The track itself is hella interesting in terms of taking a proper lines. You have so many options to choose how to take a corner it looks almost easy to play, but Mansion is really difficult to master. To counter Paperman’s words the raceline itself allows you to pick many different routes to avoid chaos or just to be faster comparing to AI/other players. That being said it’s truly more difficult to drive then Museum 2 (which the only hard part is to make a shortcut all in).

  5. Thank you for the feedback so far. I wouldn’t like to replace the original lighting, but those who find it too dark can now install ‘Brighter Lights’. It comes packaged with the track starting from now, but you can also download it separately from the site.
    Here’s a comparison:
    Let me know if the increase in brightness is enough.

  6. The detail and quality of the tracks are top notch.
    However, the track itself is as wide as a playground, so the racing line itself is simple.

    It’s as dark as Museum2, but the driving difficulty is slightly lower.

  7. I agree with Ahma about the dark parts.
    Your previous tracks all have a pretty incredible lighting effect, and this one too!
    But here, the dark parts are really too dark.
    The steering arrows could also be improved. Particularly the chicane left at the exit from the cinema. but perhaps that’s due to the lack of light…

    In any case, it’s an excellent track.
    The theme, the racing line, the effects (the camera and the light effect on the screen… magic!), everything is fantastic.
    Mansion is a must have.

  8. Amazing track guys! First laps in and I really like the theme and the obstacles and the music as well.

    In my opinion it is too dark in most parts of the track and it is too hard to see where you’re going and dodging oils is as frustrating as in Museum 2 dark parts. I hope you would fix this or I have to change the brightness every time I race this track :D

    Anyways, overall a great track with much to explore!
