    The otherworldly galactic itasha drifter

Netheria is a tuner car based off Nissan Silvia S14.
taking cues from mainstream JDM tuner cars, the body has a smooth and boxy design with versatility in mind.
the paintjob is based off a culture known as 'itasha', which is about cars with liveries of anime characters being applied.

as a drifter, this version of Netheria has very low grip, suitable for sliding across corners.
keeping the main quirks of Netheria, this drift version has very slow acceleration and very high top speed alongside tight cornering radius.
despite its low power, the strengths comes from its easy slides and tight cornering radius. maintaining control during slides can be done effortlessly.

due to its RWD drivetrain, this car is susceptible to sudden spin outs at high angles. this happens more commonly at high speeds.
moreover, this car lacks weight momentum. weight transfer are difficult to do, with major disadvantage at consecutive hairpins.
this car excels more at long winding corners, able to take them on at very high speeds, above average compared to other drift cars.
faster speeds allows the car to transfer its weight more efficiently, able to drift through one hairpin at instantaneous pace after a long fast corner.

similar to the car's race-tune counterpart, the key to mastering this car is to maintain high speeds through corners to allow for more efficient weight transfers.

  1. This is yet another of the difficult cars that the default AI fails miserably to run. So I used the lost art of AI tuning again: using Citywalker’s Expert AI tuning method.
Open the parameters.txt, scroll to the end and insert this into the Car AI details section:

    ;====================
    ; Car AI details
; Tuned with Citywalker’s Expert AI method
    ;====================

    AI { ;Start AI
    UnderThresh 1269.531250
    UnderRange 1 ; for simplicity
UnderFront 0 ; must be 0, otherwise vehicles don’t move
UnderRear 0 ; must be 0, otherwise vehicles don’t move
UnderMax -2.0 ; powerslider, countersteers for balance
    OverThresh 1269.531250
    OverRange 1 ; for simplicity
OverMax -1.0 ; powerslider, turns nose more into curve
OverAccThresh 5000 ; switched off for simpler tuning
OverAccRange 0 ; not used now, because OverAccThresh is switched off
    PickupBias 3276
    BlockBias 6553
    OvertakeBias 22936
    Suspension 0
    Aggression 0
    } ; End AI

With this, it almost copes at TITH1. It’s the best I could do, because drifters are inherently the worst case for a static-boundary AI like RVGL has. The AI just cannot compensate equally well for slow side-slides and fast side-slides, but drifters do both all the time. So it’s either better at high speeds and lousy at low speeds, or vice versa, or is at the fine edge of equally modestly okay at both speeds. This is the case here, as well. At least it tries admirably now.

    Have fun :)

    Greetz,
    Ato.

  2. Netheria Drfiter has received a major update:

overall detailing, shading, and texturing is improved,
making it more similar with my present-time style.
parameters are modified in the process, no handling changes.
