Office 1 is a custom track entirely handcrafted, designed to blend with stock tracks visually and technically.

As the name suggests, the cars race through the top floors of an office building.
This average length track features varied corner types, medium straights and door frames that can catch you off guard.
The work rooms on the upper floor also look... familiar?

Reuse of this track is completely unrestricted.

    Facts:

    • This project sparked from a texture test in 2022 after a conversation with G_J on his handmade texturing workflow
    • The track went through more than 5 completely different racelines before being narrowed down to the final version in 2023
    • To ensure this track is fully backward compatible, it was developed by overwriting nhood1 in Re-Volt v0.01acclaim

  1. So, after about 5 months, I finally found the time to test this track. :)

This indeed is a very very good attempt to make a track as stocklike as it can be. I really like the raceline a lot, it is flowing very well, and it is also easy to remember. I can smell some G_J/ISpy vibes for some reason, without all the not-so-stocklike stuff from these guys :) The only thing missing is an original stock-like music track, the rest is a (about) 4.5/5 from me! Very well done, L17!

  2. The track has become extremely boring post-February 15th update, the pickup scarcity makes the disparity between first place and the rest more apparent and very little chaos is to be expected.

    Dissapointing downgrade.
New start position is cool, though.

  3. Thanks a lot for the very positive and constructive feedback that now made racing on this track more enjoyable!
I committed to every idea I had to make Office 1 less narrow while keeping the same raceline (10 changes total).
This means every aspect of the track needed to be updated and tested to fit the new size, including the start line.

Oil slicks have been taken into account at every turn, giving a bit more visibility, more paths to avoid them and more space to recover better (the whole meeting room – and consequently half of the track – has been shifted only because of oil slicks).
Pickups have been stripped down to the bare minimum, you won’t get any for taking fast lines.
I will add pickups incrementally depending on the global feedback.

It’s only while experimenting with this update that I realized how narrow the original track really is. Working on it for 3+ years completely warped my vision.
The planned update adding scrapped instances like the printer will fill the new empty space.
But for now, I will go back to the big break I had also planned :)
    Please enjoy!

(and to answer the enigmatic line in the track description: these work rooms are inspired by the 90s Re-Volt devs’ office – I probably had the pictures in my unconscious while creating the textures)

  4. I agree with ZipperZbieracz. More space, please. You should definitely at least open the door to the right of the start straight, to give more opportunities in path taking.

  5. Great track. As other’s have mentioned, it’s a tad narrow but it feels a lot better in the reverse layout. In my opinion I would switch the reverse and forward layouts. That potted plant being moved is sneaky lol. I did get a stock feel, but it kind of has an uncanny feeling that doesn’t quite make it fully pass. Overall a good, but short track. Looking forward to a second if that is being planned.

  6. This one doesn’t have that much of a stock feeling to it. I mean, there’s some vibes it’s got that do fit that, but most stock-style tracks never come even close to how actual stock tracks feel and look. Additionally, Zipper and Nitro got some good points about how bad the track flows and Paige hit nail on the head with too little decoration – Even for stock tracks that usually don’t have a whole lot of decor, this feels almost empty. Good effort, but Airport tracks from Xarc are, so far, still the best stock-like tracks out there to date. 3.8/5 from me.

  7. Absolutely beautiful in emulation the stock atmosphere, but I will say the track is AGGRESSIVELY narrow, the point of feeling unnatural even for a practical office building, the track is easily coated in unavoidable oils and dummy pickups, and almost all of these incredible narrow parts are in the middle of tight turns, so you’re not going to be crossing oil gracefully.

I LOVE how it looks, but I absolutely can’t stand to drive it with power ups and everything enabled, but power to those that like this sort of thing, it’s just a bit too Cake-ish for my taste.

  8. This is very nice, could pass as a stock track. The only downside I see is that it is very narrow – what I mean by that is that there is only one way of driving the corners, there can be no variation in how they are approached and taken because you will end up in a blind wall behind a chicane, which leads to easy oil traps and no overtaking spots. On one side the corners flow well, on the other – the correct path is one and only, perhaps this is because every narrow section is high-speed and follows with a straight and not a slow corner.

  9. What can be said that others haven’t said already? This track is awesome! I’m really enjoying the “Hard AI.” They navigate the track so well, but they’re still perfectly beatable. Every race I’ve done here has been so exciting. Really great stuff. :)

  10. Can’t believe you released another track after a long time like this. Horray! Have to test this out soon. I’m sure it’s a well-crafted handmade masterpiece. Would have loved to see some more preview pictures. :)

Seeing you released a new track even motivates me giving it another try as well. I’m sure I’m a bit rusty handling Blender, but ideas floating in my head from time to time… :)

  11. You gave us StadVolt and now this….this is a classic already, the line is even great too. I thought 400m+ was gonna be short but it’s nice and sweet. Outstanding job, mate, this is a good stock-like level of track from the likes of Xarc and G_J/I_Spy.

I don’t talk about tracks often so this is maximum praise from me.

  12. This track is extremely well executed. Everything from the textures to the flow of the course feels great, and does an excellent job of capturing the Re-Volt philosophy of turning everyday locations into exciting racetracks. Also, you nailed the lighting. You can almost feel the warm sunbeams coming through the window in some areas. Including easy and hard AI is a nice touch as well. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go race it again.

  13. Great, great, great track; race flow is insane and super fun, plus it feels very Re-Volt-esque; one tiny little plus would be the office rooms be more decorated (with printers or photocopiers, for example) but yeah, excellent track nonetheless

  14. This track is beautiful, and I’m impressed! I hope you keep your creativity on par with Xarc, G_J, and I Spy as another dedicated stock-style track creator because I’m looking forward to seeing what other new tracks you come up with. Keep up the good work!
