  1. Second comment to say, the Gift Card thing didn’t work out due to the region I live in, but I can confirm after making contact with the one who provides with the rewards, we worked out a happy medium.

Again, very unexpected that I got this, so, this brightened my year a bit. Thanks, and hope all of you enjoyed most challenges and making said skins for the challenges specific to them!

    Until RVW Challenge 2024…

    2
  2. It was a great event, with a large diversity of challenges!

My favorite challenge is #4 which is also the only one I have won. For the next time, if there is again a similar challenge, I think it would be better to constrain everyone to race against one opponent, because there is no reason to add more opponents in this challenge. The example screenshot should also show a time similar to the one yun posted, because it is relatively easy to do.
My only opponent was Pest Control in Simulation mode, you can watch the full race here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ffxwu7c1xx4
If you watch the video, you will see that my time could have been much better, because I couldn’t push Pest Control in one of the best obstacles the track offers (the last oasis, where I can block Pest Control for a while as long as it only repositions in the water).

The challenge I dislike the most is #5, because I personally find it useless. There is nothing to find, and even the description says that you can take a random screenshot, which means it is more likely that there is no star. I haven’t attended the three challenges that require making a skin, because I’m not interested in making skins, but at least you produce something when doing these challenges.

Now, I will share my ideas for future events like this:
    – A challenge involving the use of clockwork cars. Otherwise I never play with them, and it’s the only game mode that wasn’t featured this year.
    – Create your own cup, give a car or class recommendation for it and attend a public voting (the cumulated amount of laps or track length for the entire cup should be limited).
    – Reach the highest speed you can with a given car on a given track (but I can understand if it is too hard to take the perfect screenshot). Cars with extremely low acceleration and very high top speed, such as Maxx “Z” or Zettai, would be great for this. Toys in the Hood 1 could be a good track for this.

Another idea for a contest would be “Personal challenge contest”. The idea is to create a car or a track (or both) and submit a time trial challenge with these (if only the track is created, the creator can pick any existing car and vice-versa). There would be one week for everyone (even people who haven’t submitted a creation) to try all the challenges and post times, and beating the creator of a challenge would give more points. Creators could NOT improve their own times, but to compensate they could get additional points with a public voting for their creations.

EDIT: For challenge 4 I have also tried to play against another RV Loco, but it was surprisingly harder to slow it down. But for another year, it could be an interesting idea to make a variant of this type of challenge where everybody must use the JOKER cheat code to play against the same car.

  3. I only participated to be a good sport…

Little did I know, I hit the jackpot, damn. There’s a first time for everyone, good job for all who participated!

  5. It was nice attending! Achieving second place is nice, only 3 points ahead of NVT.

Also I was the first one to submit all challenges, in bulk. Some timed challenges I improved later.

But I’m a bit surprised about the results of some timed challenges.
In #1 I had 3 batteries, but got greedy for a fourth and got a bomb instead, so the last part of the last lap (including the last turn) I had to take in reverse, losing time. My fault, but still got second with a reverse finish
#2 I didn’t know the cut and wasn’t interested in hunting a cut track
#4 I just took a bad tactic to slow the other car down (just pickups in arcade), I also didn’t hand-choose the opponent
#8 My Nahesa time was decent, but improvable by a little bit everywhere, so not that surprising someone was faster in the turns and turnlandings
#11 The difference to yun is like 0,25s per lap, I went fast but relatively safe
#17 I knew about the cut with the ramp, but I missed that the car can drive on the patch of ground inside of the double poles. So I was out of contention for the win despite putting together a good lap, but still got second for that
#19 Got all stars using 5 different stock cars

In the end I won not a single timed competition, but some 2nd places won me 2nd place overall.

Maybe next time some more points could be given for a 3rd place, to differentiate points scoring for top3 vs the rest?

  6. Well, that was unexpected, I really wanted a new mug.

Jokes aside, I really did not expect winning the challenge. I must say, all the challenges had a degree of fun, some more than others, and only one bad challenge (in my opinion). Hopefully we get another challenge soon enough because it makes me miss the fun you can have in singleplayer and how it was made for it.

For anyone interested enough, I have documented everything I did in the challenge if you’re up for watching it (and I must warn of volumes/music choices): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlhGW2nYJauBYKu06XRvB6IhGMl8SesqK

I personally thank Kiwi for not just understanding what happened but also for making the challenges, despite having some turbulence with some of ’em.
    GGs to all!
