Update v1.3: Added basic pathing (for repositions) to the long route at the start for reverse

Includes changes to Normal and Reverse.

"Improved AI Nodes" is designed to increase the difficulty of CPUs by refining the racing line and fixing key areas that cause cars to crash/spin out. Only AI nodes are touched. CPU performance is also dependent on the level of AI parameter optimization, so the overall challenge depends on what cars are the opponents. These new nodes should provide a moderate challenge for even experienced players. Improved nodes are not fully compatible with multiplayer and will tag the track as "CHT"; therefore, please disable this installation before racing online.

Museum 1 is one of the most complicated tracks for AI in the base game with a lot of branching routes, obstacles, and tight turns. While Improved AI Nodes does reduce times by over 10 seconds and increase consistency, the best CPU times are still far from a good player lap. Despite the time desparity, pickup races can still be engaging due to routing that prioritizes pickups along the way and closer racing in general.

  1. The improvements to AI on the track are decent but the bots still suck. Nevertheless, 3 stars for effort at working with the limited AI of Re-Volt.

  2. These are very complex nodes. Most of the stuff I like but there is definitely room for improvement. Some of the alternate routes for example pickups routes cause trouble for cars with weaker handling because entry to them is too sharp. Personally I don’t like to use petrol throttle node type at all because different cars react to it very differently but that’s just preference and they are probably good as they are. You could also do nodes for the alternate path by the big fall. Some parts could be changed for better consistency but overall these nodes are good 4/5.
